The pulsator is one of the most important parts of the milking installation. It must maintain a constant pulsation rate and ratio, regardless of temperature, humidity and other factors.B pharmacy lecture notes
The EP Master Unit contains all the electronics and other electrical equipment for controlling the electronic pulsation system. The electronic signal is transformed into pneumatic pulses in each EPB pulsator.
The pulsator has servo-operated valves which facilitate the use of compact low-energy solenoids. The individual pulsator units breathe filtered air, keeping ingress of dust to a minimum. Routine maintenance is kept to a minimum, the system only needing new air filters and diaphragms yearly.
Now you no longer need to rely on the rhythmic sound from the pulsators to indicate that milking is performed in the right way. With the new electronically self-controlled pulsator EP70 you have a clear light indication that the milking system is working well. Knowing it functions - If an error occurs, the Led's of the EP70 start to give out different signals.
This warning ensures less risk of mastitis and uneven milking, leading to both a reduction in veterinary costs as well as better milking performance. Battery power option - The battery power option allows more flexibility and mobility.
It can be used in tied-up barns with carriers, or on buckets, and without the need for power cables at the milking point. Consistent milking - The rate and ratio of the EP70 will remain unchanged over a long period of time.
This ensures a reliable operation over many years. In the event of changing farm circumstances, it is very easy for us to readjust the settings to optimise the milking. Quiet and smooth running - The EP70 has a built in random start function. This results in an even, stable vacuum at all times, better milking and a quiet, smooth running operation. The rhythmic pulse of the EP electronic pulsator is a sure sign of a healthy milking system.
The EP uses the same technology as its brother, the EPB, with the major difference being that the EP is a self contained unit, housing all the electronics inside its lid. Unaffected by temperature, humidity and other environmental factors, the EP electronic pulsator guarantees a constant pulsation rate and ratio. Based on the well-proven design of its predecessor, the HP, the new unit has several new features, which make it even more reliable and robust with improved performance.Order by:.

Fits all standard buckets Fits all standard bucket mouths, both stainless steel andI was wondering does anyone know how the DeLaval polsaters worked from the 50's? The ones Im asking about had what DeLaval called magnetic polsaters. How did the vacume pump control the polsation rate I know it was somthing inside that was mechanical inside behind the pump itself I think. Could Some post pictures of that if posible?
Would like to see some lititure pictures that would be great or just information. Also When did DeLaval come out with the glass reciver jar and bulk tank set up? I have some lititure from early that shows the reciver jar and bulk tank on their combine pipeline milker. Dad had DeLaval pail units right up to the time he quit in Our milkers always had electric pulsiation.
The vacume pump did not control the pulsation. I saw an advertisment once that said that the polsaters were controlled by the vacume pump and this was for the electric polsaters. This was a DeLaval advertisment from the early 50's and another piece of lititure that was the same from the 40's. This was from ebay. In the Lititure I have they mention a time converter that must be the control box that controlled the polsiaters and came along latter in the very late 50's or very early 60's.
I still wonder what made the polsiators work on the early ones in the vacume pump it must have been a timer geered in to the pump it self some how, sure would like to see what it was. I don't have a clue about DeLaval, my dad always ran Surge units. Said it was gonna cost him too much to convert the barn. I sure was glad to see him sell out.
I wasn't too fond of the way he farmed. How To Maintenance Delaval EP100B Pulsator
I'll buy it and ya'll do all the work. That's prolly why we don't see eye to eye on alot of things to this day. Oh man I forgot about why I was posting. DeLaval had a control box on the wall with wires running alongside the milk hose that controlled the pulsators.
Surge, however, used a sliding valve that operated off of the vacumn supply. But De Laval also made a vacuum pulsation unit that does not use the power source. I have one in the barn on a shelf ,just never had it apart. I believe this is the system IHDairy is referring to. My dad said he started with DeLaval milkers in the 's with electric pulsation but the wires rusted offno barn fans etc to remove condensation.
He then switched to Universal as no local DeLaval dealerwhen they wore out went to Chore Boy and finally Surge pipeline. The magnetic pulsator you are refering to I believe was a low voltage electric coil refered to often as a magnet. It was controlled by a timer on the wall that sent low voltage down the wires on the lines to the stall cocks that energized the pulsators plugged into them.
The glass jar system had 2 versions. Yeah, we had the DeLaval Sterling milkers, they were the straight vacuum operated units with the big black vacuum pulsator on the pail top. The Electronic operated units were the DeLaval Speedway types which I saw in neighbor's barns but never did use. The pailtop had a sort of metallic looking pulsator?
I don't remember the "advantage" of the more complicated Speedway type units. Still use one for fresh cows!!!
Don't ask me how it works though!!! I just know it IS electronic of some sort, as the pulsation follows a wire The DeLaval milkers we use on the pipeline are all pnuematic pulsation.
